Barbara "Lorraine" Jans

Barbara “Lorraine” Jans, 83, of Fargo, ND, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at Elim Care Center, Fargo. Barbara Lorraine Salzsieder was born October 24, 1926, at Medberry, North Dakota, daughter of Henry and Beulah (Stapleton) Salzsieder. She attended rural school until moving to Edgeley, ND, where she finished high school. After attending Valley City State College, Lorraine worked in her mother’s clothing store. Lorraine married William Jans June 18, 1950, in Edgeley. She owned her own clothing store for a few years. She and William retired in 1988, and moved to Fargo in 1995. Lorraine is survived by her husband, William, Fargo, ND; son, Stephen (Lori) Jans, Billings, MT; brother, Gary Salzsieder, Puyallup, WA; two grandchildren, Kristin and William; and two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Ethan. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Phillip; and a sister, Carol Jean. Memorial Service: Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at 11:00 AM, at First Assembly of God, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.
