Barbara Brosowske, 69, of Fargo, ND, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Bethany on University in Fargo.

Barbara Jean Lundby was born on May 4, 1953 in Crookston, MN to Paul and Harriet (Lindberg) Lundby. She was baptized at Maple Lake Lutheran Church, & confirmed at Little Norway Lutheran Church, both rural Fertile, MN. She attended elementary and high school in Fertile, graduating from Fertile High School as Salutatorian in 1971. Barb developed a love of sewing and baking early on in 4-H, and also played the piano and organ at Little Norway Lutheran Church when she was in high school. She attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Home Economics in 1975.

Barb started teaching at Fargo North High School in 1975, where she taught for 28 years, retiring in 2003 for health reasons. She loved the students and challenged them to see the best in others. While she enjoyed the sewing and cooking classes, teaching child development had a special place in her heart.

She married Ervin Haman on August 14, 1977 and together they had one son, Paul. Becoming a mother brought great joy and fulfillment to her life.

Barb loved to sew and family members were often the recipients of her work. She made clothing for herself and her sisters as well as doll clothes, craft projects, and a full set of church paraments for her brother-in-law’s church.

Barb later married Steve Brosowske on April 3, 1993, and he was the love of her life. Steve died in 1998, but they shared much life and love in their short time together.

Throughout the years, her faith in God has been her foundation and helped her through many of her health challenges. Sunday School, Luther League, women’s retreats and a trip to Holden Village all provided precious opportunities for fellowship with other believers.

In 2007, she moved to Touchmark Assisted Living due to her rheumatoid arthritis. She remained active and made close friends there. At Touchmark she started making her photo cards. She had an eye for color and transformed her photos into beautiful cards. Her cards became a ministry and a way to interact with the other residents.

She treasured her relationships with family & friends and will be remembered for her positive attitude, her heart of gold and her beautiful smile.

Barb is survived by her son, Paul, Fargo, ND; 2 sisters, Sharon Engelstad, Mentor, MN, Becky (Dave) Hunter, Groton, SD; sister-in-law, Nancy Dahl, Jamestown, ND, and aunt, Hilma Stadstad, Erskine, MN, and many nieces and nephews (great & great-great).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve, her parents, Paul & Harriet Lundby, her sister and brother-in-law LoAnn & George Dahl, and brothers-in-law, Rob Luecke and Allan Engelstad.
