Arvid Elroy Moe, 81, beloved Brother, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather was called to his eternal resting place on March 1, 2019. He entered this world on April 8, 1937 in Tioga, ND, one of five sons and two daughters born to Arnold and Amelia Moe.
Arvid loved the outdoors. He hunted and fished with his younger brothers growing up and for many years after. He was committed to helping on the family farm, making the long trek from Fargo to Tioga almost every weekend until late in life.
He moved to Fargo in 1953. Arvid met the love of his life, Janice, while attending NDSU and they were wed in Pocatello, Idaho in 1957. Arvid and Janice later moved to Tioga to help with the family farm and finally settled in Fargo in 1961. They had 3 children when they purchased the house that would be their home for over 50 years and where their youngest was born. Arvid worked as a welder and later as a draftsman at Mid-America Steel for over 30 years before retiring in 1997.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 60 years, mother, father, brother Arnie, niece Paula Alexander, and nephew David Johnson. He is survived by his brothers George, Julius, and Willie; sisters Adele and Janice (Bernerd) Mattern; son James; son Eugene (Sarah); daughter Tammy (Jef) Curfman; daughter Susan (Dan) Thorstad; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
