Arve Bentley

Arve Bennett Bentley, 83, of Fargo, ND died Friday, August 1, 2008 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo. Arve was born May 19, 1925 to Alice and Ben Bentley on the family farm near Twin Valley, Minnesota. He grew up there and attended schools at Twin Valley, later graduating from high school there. After high school Arve served in the United States Army during World War II. He lived in Charlotte, North Carolina after his discharge and resided in Atlanta before moving to Moorhead in 1959. On April 30th of that year he married Glenda Sprayberry in Trion, Georgia. He later earned a degree in accounting from Moorhead State University. Arve worked for Dakota Plate Glass in Fargo for 19 years and also at ESS Computers for many years. He recently worked for Hagen Apartments as a caretaker. He loved fishing, fixing things, enjoying coffee with his friends, and helping everyone. He is survived by his wife Glenda Bentley of Fargo; children, Steven (Jessica) Bentley) of Fargo, ND; Susan Bentley of Fargo; Rebecca (Rich) Hahn; Cherry (Bill) Lewis) and Debby Gathing) all of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Gloria Bloom of Fargo, ND, 12 grandchildren and 15 great-great granchildren. Arve is preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
