Arthur T. Jore, Jr., 85, Fargo, died on Wednesday, November 2, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fargo.
Art was born on July 21, 1931 in Fargo, the son of Arthur and Louida (Tharaldson) Jore. He grew up most of his life in Fargo and graduated from Fargo Central High in 1949. He married the love of his life and also a classmate, Angie (Johnson), on March 7, 1953, at First Congregational Church in Fargo. He was a member of First Congregational Church in Moorhead. He was a member of the Air National Guard of ND and the Reserves of the United States Air Force. He worked at Straus Clothing before going to work at Northport Clothiers, where he was one of the first employees. He worked there until they closed their doors. He then opened up Art Jore’s Pipe Dream in downtown Fargo. He really cherished all the great people he met throughout his sales career.
Art is survived by his loving wife, Angie; daughters, Brenna (Dave) Grund, Carrie (Jon) Gunderson, and son, Brad; grandchildren, Greta Hansen, Wally and Mike Lauerman, Michael, Jacob and Bobby Gunderson, Lance Grund and Stacy Lennertz; 11 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Jim Lauerman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to First Congregational UCC, Moorhead, MN or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
