Ardis J. Danielson was called home by her dear Savior on December 4, 2021. She entered this world on July 29, 1933, in Stratford, SD, born to John and Ethel Erdmann. Ethel passed away when Ardis was three years of age, while John was a traveling migrant worker in California during the depression. Her Aunt Matilda (John's sister) and Uncle Arthur Schuelke sent for Ardis at that time to live with them on their farm in Groton S.D, and through adoption, they became her beloved mother and father. She was an accomplished singer and soloist from a very young age in the church and school choirs, graduating from Groton High School with honors and as valedictorian of her senior class.
Ardis went on to attend Macalester College, where she contracted polio at the age of 19. Slow recovery kept Ardis from continuing school, but she instead found the love of her life and married Daryl K. Danielson on October 25, 1952. Daryl's position with Chevrolet and General Motors kept them moving from place to place, living the majority of the time in the Fargo area. Ardis held several positions during those years, a teacher's aide in the West Fargo and Sioux Falls School systems, an NDSU Librarian Assistant, and an Assistant to the NDSU Archivist. Ardis's true joy was serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fargo, where her passion was serving as the church librarian and preparing the church display cases for each church season. She spent Monday mornings with the Immanuel morning coffee crew and attending bible classes. Ardis was beyond proud of her 3 beautiful granddaughters and took every opportunity to attend their many activities and to brag about their many accomplishments.
Ardis was preceded in death by her husband Daryl K. Danielson, her parents, sister Drusilla Holt, brothers Floyd Erdmann, Allen Schuelke, Ora Schuelke, Lyle Schuelke, and Robert Schuelke.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra K. Danielson(Leonard Panas), Portland, OR., son Bryan K. Danielson(Liz) Fargo, and grandchildren, Rachel Panas(Noel Maitland) Austin, TX., Anna Danielson, Duluth, MN. and Sara Danielson, Fargo.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at 11:00 AM. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1258 Broadway, Fargo, ND 58102.
