Amanda Jo Wanner, 29, of Fargo, ND, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.
Amanda was born on October 10, 1989 in Fargo, ND to Jim and DeeAnn (Holen) Wanner. She grew up and attended schools in north Fargo, graduating from Fargo North High School in 2008. She worked at McDonald’s, Taco Johns and Mexican Village on Main Ave. as a cook for many years.
Amanda was a hardcore Vikings fan and had a remarkable collection of Vikings memorabilia. When Chad Greenway was in Fargo recently, she had him sign the side of her head with permanent marker. She also proudly supported the FM Redhawks, NDSU Bison, and Fargo Force.
In 2015, Amanda was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, which she battled off and on for the last four years. She always kept a positive attitude throughout her illness and was known for the smile she always had. She made a great deal of new friends as she has battled cancer and they were friendships that meant the world to her. Amanda’s family was the rock who walked with her through this difficult journey, and they remained by her side the entire time.
Amanda is survived by her parents, Jim and DeeAnn; siblings, Cody (Kira), Aaron, Brandon, Blake, and Jordan; great-grandmother, Esther Kronbeck; nephew, Payton; nieces, Parker and Kaylee; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wilbert and Anita Wanner, and Jerald Holen and Annetta (Sam) Haugen; uncle, Steve Holen; and several great-grandparents.
In honor of Amanda, the family requests that you please wear Amanda’s favorite team colors to the service, Vikings purple and gold.
