Alvina Schneider Anderson, 95, of Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Essentia Health in Fargo.
Alvina M. Hertel was born on the family homestead in Petersville Township in Kidder County, ND, on August 24, 1922 to Jacob and Emma (Gruebele) Hertel. She was raised on the family farm and attended Hornung Country School.
On December 2, 1945 Alvina married Reinhold Schneider in Pettibone, ND. They then moved to Jamestown, ND and lived there until moving to Fargo, ND in 1956. Reinhold died on April 7, 1971.
Alvina married Charles Anderson on August 22, 1986 in Fargo, ND and they made their home in Moorhead, MN.
Alvina had worked as a waitress at the Jamestown Cafe, Pheasant Cafe, Phil Wongs, and Hi-10 in Fargo, ND. She also would take care of some of the neighborhood kids who still stay in touch and consider her as their grandma.
Alvina is survived by her three daughters, Donna (Lenny) Roehrich, Diane (Dean) Oye, and Marilyn (Kenny) Schock all of Fargo, ND; sister, June Mayer; four grandchildren, Tami (Tim) Hertel, Brian (Diane) Oye, Missy (Darryn) Moos, and Kim (Dan) Browdie; eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reinhold Schneider; husband, Charles Anderson; her parents; sisters, Emma, Katie, Frieda, Rose, Lorraine, and Esther; and three brothers, William, Albert, and Edward.
Memorials are preferred to St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in West Fargo, ND.
