Allen Curtis Wittkopp died on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, in Sanford Medical Center. He was born on August 31, 1944, in Breckenridge, MN, to Henry and Pearl Wittkopp.

Allen served in the Army from 1962 to 1964, then in the Navy from 1964 to 1966. Following his service, he attended welding school in Minot, ND. He then worked at Smith Incorporated, where he refurbished school buses before manufacturing beet toppers for Alloway Standard Industries. In 1974, he began working for Steiger Tractor until his retirement in 2007.

Allen and Virginia (Arneson) married in Fargo, ND, on March 3, 1977. They were happily married until her passing in 2013.

He enjoyed fishing, especially at Star Lake in Minnesota, and was an expert when it came to researching his ancestry. Pinochle was a favorite as he loved playing card games. He was also a big fan of the Minnesota Twins.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Jeff Hlebechuk, Mark Hlebechuk (Rhonda), Kris Christenson, and Kelly Fix (Richard), all of Fargo, ND; siblings, Linda Bang (Cliff) and Henry (Joyce) Wittkopp; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Pearl Wittkopp; spouse, Virginia Wittkopp; stepchild, Steven Hlebechuk; and sister, Barbara L. Allen.
