Allan Gallagher reached his hand up and took Christ’s invitation to come home on Friday, July 5, 2019 at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo.
Allan Mark Gallagher was born on August 31, 1947 to Mark and Vernette Gallagher. He grew up on the family farm in Oakwood, ND. He graduated from the Catholic school in Oakwood and went on to attend UND. He proudly served our country in the National Guard for 7 years. Allan was a successful business man in Fargo, Bismarck and Grand Forks in sales and marketing for Fireside Office Products as owner and Classic Promotions as partner/owner with his beautiful wife. Allan was also an ambassador for the Fargo Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Elks Club for many years.
Allan married Ruth Anne Good Iverson on July 9, 1988. He had two children, John and Beth, from a previous marriage.
Allan loved to golf, play cards, travel, hear a good joke and tease friends and family. Allan was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and a true friend and mentor to so many of us. He was a stand-up guy that was always there for anyone in need. When he hugged you, it was felt right into your soul.
Allan is preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Vernette Gallaher, brother Ken Gallagher and sister Mary Dahlen.
He is survived by the love of his life, Ruth Anne Gallagher; children, John (Diandra) Gallagher, Beth (Aaron) Wyman, Sherri (Dan) Harris, and Ronn Iverson. Siblings, Gene (Rose) Gallagher, Donald (Peggy) Gallagher, Dorothy (Elwood) Schumacher, Carol (Kenneth) Gardner, Francis (Shelby) Gallagher, Patrick (Missy) Gallagher and Dianne Schultz. Grandchildren, Sydney Iverson, Michael Harris, Matthew Harris, Finnegan Gallagher and Declan Gallagher as well as a number of brother and sisters in law, nieces and nephews, and many, many friends.
A celebration of Allan’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 11th at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Time will be made to allow friends, family, guests and all who knew Allan to share their stories.
In honor of his love for animals, in lieu of flowers, please send memorials to any local animal shelter.
We are comforted to know that Allan has gone to be with his Lord and that his struggles on earth are over. But, boy, we are going to miss him!
The family wishes to thank the staff at Ethos Hospice and Bethany on 42nd for all the loving care they provided Allan throughout this difficult time.
