Alice Heitzmann

Alice Heitzmann, 87, of Fargo, ND, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo. Alice Brag was born May 8, 1922, in Cooperstown, North Dakota, daughter of Sigfred and Nellie (Peterson) Brag. She went to Grandin High School and lived on the family farm until her marriage. On September 14, 1946, in Moorhead, Minnesota, Alice married Alfred Heitzmann. They farmed near Gardner, retiring in 1984. They moved to Fargo in 1988. Alfred passed away in 1997. Alice enjoyed playing cards with friends, dancing, and was devoted to her family and grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her loving and kind spirit. Alice is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Perry) Kleven, Dilworth, MN: and her son, Vernon Heitzmann, Gardner, ND; and two grandchildren, Kyle and Lindsey. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred; brother, Melvin Brag; and sister, Shirley Larson. Funeral Service: Friday, September 18, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at Rosewood. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
