Alden "Al" Hedstrom, 94, Fargo, died November 4, 2018 at Bethany Retirement Living on University, Fargo, ND.
Al was born on June 5, 1924 near Aneta, ND to Art and Ella (Dahly) Hedstrom and graduated from high school in Sharon, ND. Al was a man of many talents. Along with farming, Al sold pianos and organs, tuned pianos, and re-built pianos. He had a traveling dance band with his brother, Robert, and recorded two albums, Back Home Tunes from Dakota Land and All-Time Favorites by The Al and Bob Hedstrom Trio.
Al married June Olson on March 12, 1950 in Northwood, ND. They lived in Aneta until 1983 when they moved “south” to Fargo. He was very active with Chanters group of El Zagel Shrine.
Al is survived by his wife, June; children: Denise (Tim) Jensen, Fargo, Doug (Jolene) Hedstrom, Fargo, and Jill (Michael) Josepher, Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren: Ryan (Kristin) Jensen, April (Tony) Rabideaux, Lauren Hedstrom, Leah Hedstrom and six great-grandchildren: Leighton, Zoe, Presley, Landon, Cullen and Jensen were very special to their Big Boppa.
Al was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings: Alyce, Viola, Eunice, Arvid, Donna and Robert..
He loved his family and his music.
Burial will take place at a later date in Silent Hill Cemetery, Aneta, ND.
