Albertha Edgeton, 84, of Fargo, ND, died Friday, January 29, 2010 at Meritcare Hospital, Fargo, ND. Albertha was born December 1, 1925, in Wetonka, SD to Vivian and Dorothy (Kerschman) Crompton. She grew up in Minnesota where she graduated from Borup High School. She attended Dakota Business College in Fargo, ND. Albertha worked as a Bankteller in Ada and Borup, MN. Later she worked at Ben Franklin Dime Store in Fargo, later becoming a secretary for Crane Plumbing Co. She married John Smaby on May 29, 1947 and they resided in Fargo, ND. Later she married Ron Edgeton on December 5, 1987. She moved to Bethany Kinder House in 2008 where she enjoyed having coffee and meals with new friends. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in North Fargo. She enjoyed her time with her grandchildren, Sunday drives, her dog Buttons, gardening, baking, and reading. She is survived by her daughter Jeanene (Ron) Conner; two grandchildren, Jeff Conner, Brad (Chris) Conner; three great grandchildren, Alex, Clara, and Brenden Conner; stepchildren, Bruce Edgeton, Shawn (Miguel) Rojas, and Michele Edgeton; three step grandchildren, Matthew, Kayla, and Tyler Edgeton; sister-in-law, Marion Crompton; and a niece and many nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Thomas (Tommy) Crompton; husband, Ron Edgeton; and stepson, Tim Edgeton. Funeral: Thursday, February 4, 2010, 2:00 PM at Hope Lutheran Church – North Campus, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Wednesday, February 3, 2010 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Interment will be at Springvale Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
