Aileen G. Meyer passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024, at Kinder Care in West Fargo, ND under the care of Sanford Hospice.
Aileen was born on the family farm near Gwinner, ND to Selmer and Lillian (Colby) Hanson on October 7, 1928. She grew up on the farm and graduated from high school in Gwinner, ND.
After high school she moved to Fargo, ND and worked for National Food Store, Piggly Wiggly and Kresge Store. On July 15, 1948 she married Orville R. Meyer in Gwinner, ND. They made their home in Fargo where she was a homemaker and raised their 4 children.
She enjoyed bowling, dancing, walking and spending summers at the American Legion Camp Ground.
Aileen is survived by her daughter, Pamala (Derald) Brunette of Fargo; sons Bradley (Shelly) Meyer of Darby, Montana and Jeff Meyer of Detroit Lakes; grandson Jayson (Leslie) Brunette of Madisonville, TX, granddaughter, Jennifer Stirling (Cody Larson) of Wahpeton, ND, grandson Hunter Meyer of Missoula, Montana and grandson Jesse Meyer of Vergas, MN; 6 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert D. Hanson of Wahpeton, ND and many nieces and nephews.
Aileen was preceded in death by her husband Orville; daughter, Denise; her parents; twin sister Arlane Ekstrom; sister Lylas Gold and brother Ronald Hanson.
The memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo. There will be a Celebration of Life held at the American Legion Camp Ground in Detroit Lakes, MN at a later date.
