Adeline Iola (Thue) Loge, 92, passed away in her home on Thursday, May 8, 2014. She fought a brief and valiant fight against Lymphoma. Adeline was born June 29, 1921 to Albert and Inga (Braaten) Thue on the family farmstead in rural Walcott, North Dakota. She attended school through the eighth grade and was then needed to help work on the family farm. She was eighteen when she left home to work at the Flamer’s Café, in downtown Fargo. Three of her sisters eventually joined her in working there. She also worked at the Manchester Biscuit Company in Fargo.
She married Gerald Wayne Loge on June 15, 1953, in Fargo. They lived in Duluth, Minnesota and Bemidji, Minnesota before moving back to Fargo in 1962 when they started the Fargo Dyna-Kleen franchise. They had one son, Wayne Jerome Loge, Fargo.
Adeline enjoyed baking, especially her signature apple pie made with fresh apples from her apple tree, visiting with family and friends over coffee, playing guitar and harmonica, and being a doting mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her son Wayne (Olivia Altenburg), Fargo grandson Adam Altenburg, Fargo, and sisters, Helen Savageau, Moorhead, Glorella Sveum, Fargo, and Irene (Herbert) Dahlsad, Moorhead. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gerry, brothers Peter and Duane, and sisters, Ione Olson, Marion Anderson, Alida Arndt, and Effie Aasen.
