Adeline Kvam, 95, of Fargo, ND, died Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND. Adeline Lorraine Moe was born on July 10, 1921 in Tioga, ND to Carl and Mabel (Olson) Moe. She attended schools in the Tioga area and graduated from Tioga High School. She received her nursing diploma from Anchor Hospital in St. Paul, MN.
Adeline married Joseph “Larry” Lawrence DuBois in June 1948. Larry died in Nov. 1952. She married Edward Kvam in June 1957 in Tioga. Edward died in December 1967. Adeline continued to live in Tioga after Edward’s death.
Adeline worked at the Tioga Hospital and nursing home for many years. She was a member of Zion Free Lutheran Church. She was active in bible studies and WMF. She was an avid reader and enjoyed quilting, knitting and bowling. She was a member of Sons of Norway, Senior Citizens, Homemakers and TOPPS.
Adeline loved taking trips to spend time with her family, who she dearly loved, especially when they were all together. “Oh I just loved her; she was so sweet and had a gentle spirit” have been common sentiments whenever Adeline was mentioned.
In October of 2008, she moved to Fargo, ND, to be closer to her children. She resided at Edgewood Vista until the time of her death.
Adeline is survived by her children, Barbara (Ron) Strand, rural Abercrombie, ND, Patricia (Steve) Sagaser, Grand Forks, ND, and Lee (Mari) Kvam, Fargo, ND; 11 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Melvin (Shirley) Moe, Caroline Felber, Lester Moe, Ilene (Tom) Cooke and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husbands; granddaughter, Lindsey Kvam; sisters, Marion Moe, Sylvia Overland, and Lillian Huston.
