Patricia Marie Hanson

January 20, 1947 — November 5, 2020

Patricia Marie Hanson, 73, Fargo, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family, on November 5, 2020.

Patricia was born January 20, 1947 to Pearl (Burquam) and Vernon Olson in Grafton, ND. She was raised in Grafton and attended Grafton High School with her six siblings. She was named Ms. Congeniality because of her great personality.

Pat moved to Bismarck in 1966 to attend college and later met her husband, Ken; they were married February 4, 1967. They later moved to Fargo to start their family and joined the Seventh Day Adventist Church where they met many good friends over the years. Pat and Ken and their 3 kids loved going to their cabin on Long Lake every chance they could for 38 years; they had many great memories there. Pat and Ken owned Hanson’s Cleaning Service for over 30 years and always kept a clean home.

Patricia enjoyed the simple things and was happy all the time. She loved to give and never wanted anything in return. She loved her kids and grandkids and loved her husband in her own special way. He was an amazing care giver of 54 years and towards the end he was the one who touched her tucked her in at night under her many blankets. Her family and friends were everything to her and she always called to “check up” on them. Pat loved cardinals, loons and humming birds; tide soap, potatoes and sour cream; she loved coffee with cream, especially from McDonald’s. She loved America and was proud to be a Norwegian “uff da”. Patricia loved her church and Jesus. She was always asking “What’s that guy’s name” and said, “It just doesn’t matter anymore” or “What’s your nationality?” She could talk to anyone and would give them her last dollar; money didn’t matter to her. She loved to wear lip stick and nail polish but would say “I’m not artificial”. She loved her salads, black olives, ice cream and potlucks. She could brighten any room with her smile and great personality. She loved BINGO and pull tabs. She loved Keystone, SD where she took a vacation with Ken and their grandsons. She loved Alan Jackson, Johnny Cash and Tom T. Hall.

We will miss all those daily phone calls asking, “do you know where ___is? I can’t get ahold of them.” We will miss our wild and crazy Pat. She left us too soon. Pat was an amazing, caring, sweet momma, grandma, wife. One day we will meet her again in the clouds of glory. We love you so much and you will be missed deeply.

Pat is survived by her husband Ken; daughters, Julie (Greg) and Missy (Chris) and son, Jamz (Lauri); grandchildren, Meghan Pegel, Seth Pegel, Chase Monson and Skyler Monson; brother, Richard (Jackie) Olson; and sister Sandra (Emery) Lietz and Gordon.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Carol and Julianne; brother, Kenny and niece, Laura and many more beloved relatives.
A special thanks to hospice and all those friends and family who dropped off food and gifts.

There will be a private ceremony. A Celebration of Life will be planned in the future.
