Katie Johnson, 41, of Denver, CO, died unexpectedly on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at her home in Denver.
Katie Jean Johnson was born in Valley City, North Dakota April 30th, 1980, to Stan and Pam Johnson. The family moved to Fargo ND in 1987. Katie graduated from Fargo South in 1998. She went to Phoenix, Arizona where she was a nanny to two children. The family moved to Denver, Colorado, and she moved with them. She attended Arapahoe Community College where she earned a nursing degree graduating in 2004. She began working at Rose Medical Center and most recently was a home health nurse.
Katie loved to travel, especially to Mexico and other warm places near the ocean. She loved to spend time at the Johnson lake cabin on Little Cormorant Lake. In her younger years, she and her cousins, aunts, and uncles along with her grandparents spent countless hours swimming and having fun. She, Jaxon, and Mike were able to spend time there twice this past summer.
Katie loved children and wanted to be a mother. Katie and Mike were blessed with their son Jaxon Ray on January 31st, 2020, born on Katie's grandma Bev's birthday. Jaxon was her pride and joy. "Just look at him" she would say, "he's perfect!"
Katie had many lifelong friends from her school days, and those made during her nursing career. She loved fiercely and could have a stubborn streak just as fierce. She had a zest for life like no other. Her love for family and friends was unmatched and she holds a dear place in many hearts. She will be missed so much as we hold tight our precious memories of her life.
Katie is survived by her life partner, Michael Hock, and their son Jaxon; her parents, Stan and Pam Johnson; brother, Jeremy Johnson; nephews, Blaze and Kruze Johnson; sister-in-law, Melissa Johnson; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; Mike's family - parents, Calvin and Karen; and brother, Chris Hock. She cherished her family.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Norman and Jean Johnson; and Howard and Beverly Kunze.
