Karen Elaine Brown passed away peacefully at home with family May 16, 2020 in Fargo ND.
She was born November 29, 1952 to Lowell and Romae (Olmstead) Jacobson. She was the youngest of 8 brothers and sisters; Joe, Jack, Bob, Richard, David, Sandra, and Susan. Karen graduated from Fargo North High School in 1971. A short while after, in 1974, she married Robert John Brown. They had 3 children and enjoyed their marriage until his passing in 1991.
She was an amazing and loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and neighbor. She enjoyed helping people however she could and working with her hands. Whether it be remodeling or gardening or quilting she was always doing something creative. Her hobbies also included watching NASCAR and going to the dirt track races to cheer on her family as it was a tradition. In her younger years, Karen was a union carpenter working construction and also worked at Cass Clay Creamery. She had an incredible drive to always move forward and improve things.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother Bob. She is survived by her three children, Rochelle, Sarah, and Steven and four grandchildren Corrina, Monica, Ethan, and Ava.
A private memorial service will be held and live streamed on the Hanson-Runsvold website at 10:00 am, Saturday, May 23.
