Howard Walter Preckel

Howard W. Preckel, 90, of Fargo, ND, died on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the Halstad Living Center in Halstad, MN.
Howard was born on April 29, 1929 in Fargo, ND to Walter and Anna (Redland) Preckel. He attended and graduated from Central High School and then attended NDSU where he received his Bachelors Degree in 1952.
Upon graduating 1952, Howard served in the US Navy in the Korean War. He engaged in securities, investments, real estate, and was also an annuities broker. Howard also served as owner-developer of land in South Fargo including several apartments.
He was a member of the American Legion, Elks, First Lutheran Church, Chamber of Commerce, Fargo Central High Alumni Association, NDSU Alumni, FM Apartment Association, and Sons of Norway (Round Table Group).
Howard was an avid sportsman. He loved pheasant and duck hunting, fishing, walking, reading, and dancing.
Howard is survived by many cousins and his dear coffee friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private service will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 due to the current health situation, and video of the service will be available at www.hansonrunsvold.com following the service.
