Doris Leatherbury

Doris E. Leatherbury, 76, of Fargo, ND, died Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Sanford Palliative Care. Doris was born in Kindred, ND to Helmer and Olea (Odegaard) Toppen on March 24, 1935. She graduated from Kindred High School and went onto graduate from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in 1957. She married Charles Leatherbury on January 9, 1959 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Annapolis, MD. They moved to Mayo, ND where they built a home and started their family. Keith, Laurie and Dennis were born in Annapolis, MD and then they moved to North Dakota in 1963. Cy was born in 1965. Doris is survived by her sons, Keith (Lisa), Freemont, NE; Dennis (Diane), Moorhead, MN; and Cy Leatherbury, Aurora, CO; daughter, Laurie (Stuart) Johnson, Harwood, ND; seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents; brothers, Orville, Donald and Denis and Raymond; and sister Lorraine. Funeral Service: Wednesday, January 25, 2012, 2:00 PM at Eventide Lutheran Chapel, Moorhead, MN. Visitation: One hour prior to services at Eventide Lutheran Chapel. Burial: Perhus Cemetery, Kindred, ND.
