Ruth Ann Boland, 78, Fargo, ND passed away on March 20, 2025 at Essentia Health, Fargo. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11 am, with visitation one hour prior, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home. A private family burial will be at a later date.
Ruth was born to Edward and Lyla (Johnson) Molacek on November 2, 1946. She graduated from Lake Park High School. On March 27, 1965, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Zurn. They had a daughter and two sons, Edward, Kimberly and Bradley. Later in life, Ruth married Lyle “Ole” Boland.
Before retirement, Ruth was employed by United Parcel Service, or Buster Brown, as she called them. She was hired in 1973 and was the first female hired in ND as women became eligible for hire. Ruth worked for UPS for 30 proud years of service. In her retirement, she really loved to play cards, especially Pinochle. She would wave her arms in victory as she won, almost every game. Ruth also enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, casino trips, puzzle work, and gardening. She loved her flower beds, watching the birds, especially hummingbirds. Her favorite place to be, over all else, was with family and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. Family was her everything.
Ruth is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grands, Ed & Pam (Raymond, MN), Nate, Tina & Gatlin (Fargo), Maddy, DJ, Hazel and Garrett Winter (Spicer, MN), Kim, Travis Taxdahl (Fargo), Jacob Friese (Fargo), Joshua Friese (Fargo), Brad & Melissa (Lake Elmo, MN), Tyler, Brie, Camden & Walker (Rosemount, MN), Mckay, Braeden & Blakely Cordts (Maplewood, MN), Mitchell & Ali (Minnetonka, MN); siblings, Rita Foltz & son Tom, (Detroit Lakes) Richard Molacek (Detroit Lakes) and family, Robert Molacek (Rochert) and family; and her nieces and nephews that were always near and dear to her heart.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Ed & Lyla; her siblings, Ronald and Renae (Sim); and ex-husband, Kenneth Zurn.
