Marcel Alexander Poitras

After a long struggle with schizophrenia and, more recently, poor health, our beautiful boy passed away at age 44 peacefully with parents and an aunt by his side. Known as "The Shaman" by family he was both tortured and joyful in turn.

He leaves behind parents, Stephen and Susan Poitras; siblings, Simone Augustadt and Antoine Poitras; nephews, Hans Augustadt and Miles Poitras; and niece Amelia Poitras. Aunt and uncle, Priscilla and Lowell Bolger; aunt and uncle, Maureen and Rick Newman; and aunts, Kim Kammeier, Carole Lampi, and Denise Poitras. He was preceded in death by uncle, Philip Poitras.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
