Louis Wolter, 79, of Arthur, ND, formerly of Fargo, ND, died Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society in Arthur, ND.
Louis Anthony Wolter was born July 10, 1936, a 117 degree day, in Cologne, MN to Paul and Katherine (Rademacher) Wolter. They moved to North Dakota in 1939 with his parents and older twin brothers. He graduated from Valley City State College in Dec. 1967.
On November 28, 1964 he married Ruth Marion Wolfgram in Niagara, ND.
Louis served in the US Army from 1960-1962, Army Air Force in Fort Rucker, AL in the Adjutant General Corps SP4. He later taught in rural school for one year and in Fessenden, Lakota, and Tolna for a total of 6 years. He worked for Job Services from 1964 - 1980 in Fargo, Valley City, Grand Forks, and in 1980 worked at Grafton State School. He became disabled due to an accident in 1981. He spent time writing for Christian publications.
Louis is survived by his children, Lynda Wolter, Chicago, IL; Lisa (Eric) Heap, Fargo, ND; Lori Wolter, Fargo, ND; siblings, Victor "Bob" (Mary) Wolter; Paul "Gene" (Marge) Wolter; Virgil (Barbara) Wolter; Thomas (Marlene) Wolter; Carol McCoy; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; and his parents.
Memorials are preferred to the Roger Maris Cancer Center.
