Julie Ann (Colligan) Sanderson, was born November 18, 1951 in Bagley, Minnesota, Polk County to Thomas and Joyce (Collister) Colligan. She died at the age of 73 on March 9, 2025 in Fargo, North Dakota.
Julie, her mother and sister, JoAnn, lived in rural Polk County, Minnesota and moved to Moorhead, Minnesota in 1965. Julie was very proud to have been a cadet of the Civil Air Patrol. Julie loved to hunt and fish with her husband, John, her sister and brother-in-law JoAnn and Wayne Jorgenson, and her nephews Jeremy, Renek and Colin Jorgenson. Julie adored her nephews, Jeremy, Renek and Colin Jorgenson; Jake Melicher, and niece Anna (Bryan Freborg) Melicher. Julie was an avid gardener. Julie loved and lived for her cats. Julie attended Foston, Minnesota school until grade eight and graduated high school at Moorhead State College Campus high school in 1970. Julie continued her education graduating as a cosmetologist at Joseph's School of Hair Design, where she later taught for several years. Julie's working career was very diversified. She was a brand inspector at the West Fargo Stock Yards and a Fargo city bus driver. After her cosmetology career she worked at Noridian- Blue Cross of North Dakota and the Fargo school district. Julie married John Robert Sanderson on July 3, 1975, and made their home in Fargo, North Dakota. They spent 43 wonderful years together hunting, fishing and traveling. Julie loved fishing at the Bull Moose Lodge in Ontario, Canada. She and John took a spectacular trip to Australia and a great train excursion through Glacier National Park in Montana to the west coast.
Julie was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Sanderson, brother-in-law Bruce Sanderson and her parents Thomas Francis Colligan and Joyce Alice Ellen (Collister Colligan) England .
Julie is survived by her sister JoAnn (Wayne) Jorgenson and her nephews, Jeremy Wayne, Renek J., Colin James (Ivy) Jorgenson, Jake Melicher; niece, Anna (Bryan Freborg) Melicher; grand nephews and niece, Dash James, Carter John, and Jolie Jane Jorgenson; sisters-in-law Cindy Overboe (Steve) Melicher, Sue Ann Overboe (Bruce) Nelson, Sue (Bruce) Sanderson and close friends Kitty Rusten (Virgil) Eide, and Pat Jasek and many beloved Uncles, Aunts and Cousins.
Julie will be interred in the Skatvold cemetery, Climax, Minnesota in the spring.
