Jerry Allen Jensen, 69, of Fargo, ND, passed away Friday, July 10, 2020 at Sanford Broadway Medical Center.
In 1950 Jerry was born in Fargo, ND, to Chester and Frances (Wee) Jensen. He graduated with honors from North High School in 1968, and Concordia College, Summa Cum Laude with a major of mathematics. After working during school, and after, with Lutheran Hospitals and Homes, he was 1 of 100 in the country accepted to Carnegie Mellon School of Industrial Management and received his MBA there. He worked for some years in Chicago and then returned to Fargo to work with his father at the insurance agency until his retirement.
Jerry loved talking with others over coffee, his independence, reading and some travel (he thanks Richard and Mary Louise for helping with this).
He is survived by his brother, Richard (Mary Louise) Jensen, special friends: Beverly Woitzel, LaVerne Sansted, Henry Kucera, Samantha Kimmet and Sandi Kimmet, extended family members in the US and Canada.
He wishes to specifically thank Dr. S. Gupta (RMCC) and staff who were there helping him to battle the last three years and the Sanford Hospice House staff for the wonderful care these last few weeks. Special thank you to my friend, Sandi, who was with me during this entire cancer journey and for her kindness, expertise, willingness, and loving care. “You were willing to take my initial call, to come be my strength during hard times, to help me understand, be my driver when I couldn’t, pushing through procrastination moments, and mostly for listening so carefully to my words and being my memory bank. You have been my voice when I could not get words out. It has meant a great deal to me and I deeply appreciate all you have done for me.” To those I have known: thank you for sharing your stories of life, sharing fun and coffee moments with me. To Bev: I love you. To Richard and Mary Louise, thank you for being there for me every single day these last months. I love you both.
Memorials are preferred to the Sanford Fargo Hospice House, 801 Broadway N, Route 0164, Fargo, ND 58122-0164 or The Hour of Worship, P.O. Box 1562, Fargo, ND 58107.
