Alexander Scott Johnson, "Big A", age 28, passed away in his home in Tempe, AZ on Monday, April 1, 2024. Alex was born on May 9, 1995 in Fargo, ND to Gregory and Barbara Johnson. Alex was raised alongside his 4 siblings in Dilworth, MN and became a 2014 DGF High School graduate. During high school Alex enjoyed wrestling and baseball, where he was an incredible friend and teammate. After graduation, Alex worked in construction before taking a position at Fargo Truss Systems and Stone Countertop Outlet.
In 2018 Alex moved to AZ and started a job at Guthrie Construction. This was a job Alex grew incredibly proud of, and truly loved. Guthrie is where Alex met his favorite co-worker / mentor, Dave, whom he called his "AZ dad" and loved him as if he were family. Alex completed his apprenticeship program to become a Journeyman in October of 2022 and worked as an apprentice carpenter for Guthrie. He worked in various Hospitals all around AZ building ER, CT, and Intensive Care rooms. Alex loved living in AZ, he loved to hike, and was especially proud of completing the "camelback" trail as he would send pictures to his family and friends of some of his amazing views. Alex also enjoyed golfing and watching any and all sports with his family members close to him, especially his Miami Dolphins.
Alex would come home to MN whenever he was able (or should I say willing to take a couple days off of work). While Alex was home, he enjoyed seeing his friends and family and spending as much time at the lake as possible. Family time at the lake held a special place in Alex's heart. Above all things Alex loved his family, and will continue to watch over us.
Alex is survived by his parents, Barb and Greg Johnson; his grandparents, Truman and Darlene Johnson, and Bette Walth; his siblings, Casey (Rachael) Johnson, Taylor (Alexis) Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Arianna (Shea) Johnson/Huntington; nephew, Gunner Johnson; nieces, Kinsley Johnson, Kaylee Johnson, Nora Johnson; aunts and uncles, Denise (Craig) Enervold, Scotty (Deb) Johnson, Bob (Carol) Walth, Bev (Mark) Freadhoff, Bonnie (Bill) Borman; cousins, Danielle (John) Gostanzik, Lauren Enervold, Ryan (Irena) Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Evan (Ruth) Johnson, Apryl Walth, Cassie (Ian) Ballantyne, Jessica (Chris) Walth/Seubert, John (Kari) Browning, Tana (Aaron) Miller, Allie (Steven) Powell, Joe Borman; second cousins, Mason and Gemma Gostanzik, Carson, Logan and Jackson Johnson, Khloe Langeliers, Lilly and Jax Browning, Tahlia Eklund, and Riley Powell.

Our family wants to extend a huge thank you to everyone who supported us through calls, texts, visits, cards, flowers, food, meaningful gifts, and celebrating Alex's life. We would not have made it through these difficult times without all your thoughts and prayers. Hug your loved ones a little tighter, and say your "I love you"s a little louder, as you never know when Heaven will need its next angel. Please continue to share memories of Alex, and carry on his beautiful light.
