William “Bill” McGinnis, 67, of Fargo, ND, was called to his eternal resting place on May 14, 2022, at his home under the care of hospice.
Bill entered this world on July 25, 1954, in Bucks County, PA, born to William McGinnis and Anne Scheuer. He grew up on the east coast but for the most part in Washington Township, NJ. Following graduation, Bill joined the US Air Force which is where he began his work as a carpenter. He served for four years after which he lived in several states across the US before making his home in Fargo.
Bill worked for nearly 25 years with Meineke Johnson in Fargo, ND. He retired as a Superintendent, taking much pride in his work as an accomplished builder. He had his hands in building the Fargo Dome, West Acres Mall, NDSU Minard Hall, VA Medical Center, numerous luxury hotels, schools, and so much more. There wasn’t a morning you wouldn’t catch him watching John Wayne and the old black and white films, or Loonie Tunes; he enjoyed dogs, fast cars, and would give anyone in his family the shirt off his back if they were in need. He will be remembered for his hard work ethic, his drive to get a job done, and most importantly his love for his family. Bill was a “true big brother”.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Billie (Joseph Kiedrowski) McGinnis; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, and Carter Kiedrowski; siblings, Beth (Ginger) McGinnis and Tim (Kate) McGinnis.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Renae McGinnis; his parents, William McGinnis, and Anne Scheuer; and brother, Ted Eckhardt.
