Patricia Ann Barr (Brunelle) was born to Oliver and Agnes Brunelle (Williams) at St. John’s hospital in Fargo, North Dakota, on July 12, 1930, and lived most of her life in Bismarck and Fargo, North Dakota. Pat passed away after complications from a fall on May 18, 2022, surrounded by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, and siblings.
Pat attended Sacred Heart Academy, where she was homecoming queen, and graduated in 1948.
Pat worked primarily in banking in her younger years, as well as working with the North Dakota Economic Development Commission and as a bookkeeper for Dr. John Warford.
Pat enjoyed her friends in Tucson, where she and Tom wintered for 16 years, was a member of the Red Hat Society, and was true to her Catholic faith.
In her free time, she most enjoyed spending time with her family and took great joy in her grand and great-grandkids. Pat also enjoyed reading, playing cards, and parlor games, traveling, walking with friends, and getting into trouble in Las Vegas with her mother and sister. Pat was prone to bursting into song whenever the mood struck, reciting nursery rhymes anywhere and everywhere and laughing with her family at our
loud Sunday dinners.
Pat was preceded in death by daughters Pammy and Kathy, parents Oliver and Agnes, and brother Richard “Pete.”
She is survived by her husband Thomas Barr, son Tom Barr (Tara), daughters Barb Johnson (Jim), Leslie Miller, and Kelly Barr-Muscha (Douglas), sister Maxine Liversage (Curt), and brother Mike Brunelle (Candy), her first grandchild, Leah Staahl (Glass) who was like a seventh child to her, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pat was an exceptionally kind, caring, and considerate person. The loss is immeasurable but so is the love left behind.
Thank you to Farmstead Living for their loving care of Pat for the past two years.
