Marcia Lynn Dorsey

Marcia Dorsey, 71, Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, in her home surrounded by her family.

Marcia Lynn Opland was born Nov. 4, 1942, in Niagara Falls, NY, to Stephen and Ruth Opland. She grew up in Canton, Hurley and Redfield, SD, where she graduated from high school. She studied nursing at Presentation College, Aberdeen, SD. She married Jon Dorsey in 1960 in Redfield. They lived in Aberdeen and later moved to Moorhead where she worked as an underwriter for various insurance companies until she retired. They also had a home for many years on Long Lake near Vergas, MN.

She is survived by her three children Dianna (Stan) Baumann of Moorhead, Mark Dorsey and Stephen (Michelle) Dorsey of Sabin, MN; her mother, Ruth Opland, Fargo, ND; and her seven grandchildren, Krista (Christopher) Kenck, Tyler Baumann, Danielle Dorsey, Rachelle Dorsey, Taylor Dorsey, Kaiden Dorsey, and Audrey Dorsey.

She was preceded in death by her father and her husband.
