Lillian Moran

Lillian Moran, 113 and 14 days old, of Moorhead, MN, died on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Eventide on Eighth in Moorhead.

Lillian Jacobson was born on March 18, 1911 in Maddock, ND to Jacob and Julie (Nottestad) Jacobson. She was one year old when they moved to Harlow, ND where they were the first residents. She graduated from Maddock High School in 1930.

Lillian married John Moran on October 7, 1940 and they farmed south of Flora until his death. She enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, and sewing.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, John and son, Gary.

She is survived by grandson, Eric (Sheenagh) Moran; great-grandson, Seamus; and daughter-in-law, Sandra Moran.

At her death, Lillian was the 4th oldest living person in the United States. When asked what attributed to her longevity she would say "keep breathing". She loved to sing and at her 113th birthday, she and the staff sang her favorite old songs. Lillian will be dearly missed.

A private interment will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Columbarium, Fargo, ND.
