Kirk William Stevenson

Kirk William Stevenson (47), Detroit Lakes, MN died on July 1, 2024. He was born April 19, 1977 in Fargo, ND. He was the youngest son of Wayne and Arlis (Ambuehl) Stevenson.

Kirk grew up on the family farm in Georgetown, MN and graduated from Ada-Borup High School. He was active in FLA and 4H where he earned many achievements. After high school, he went on to study Mass Communications at St. Cloud State University. He then started working in banking and later accomplished his dream job managing a Slumberland in Marshalltown, IA.

He had many hobbies, including curling, cooking, traveling, hosting Friendsgiving, camping in his airstream, and selling Tastefully Simple. He especially loved spending time at the lake and with his beloved dog, Cooper.

Kirk had an infectious personality and was always surrounded by his entourage of friends. He made friends easily and everywhere he went.

Kirk leaves behind his dad, Wayne; brothers, Scott (Mary) and Keith (Karla); many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; his beloved dog, Cooper; and his many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Arlis Stevenson; his grandparents; and aunts.

A special thank you to the staff at Traverse Care Facility for the tireless attention given to Kirk this past year.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN, with a visitation one hour prior.
