Kathryn Ann Wright, 90, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 11, 2012. She was born on August 13, 1921 in Hebron, ND to her loving parents, Anna and Henry Wolter. She and her twin brother, Willy, were the center of attention as one of the few sets of twins born in the area. Kathryn grew up on the farm with her four brothers, Ernest, Erwin, Helmuth and Wilbert. She met the love of her life, W. Nelson Wright, when he was stationed at NDSU for training prior to serving in WWII. They were married at Camp Gruber in Oklahoma before his deployment to France. Kathryn and Nelson lived in the Fargo/Moorhead area for most of their 65 year marriage. Her husband, parents, four brothers and a great grandson, Ethan Jessup, preceded her in death. Kathryn was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Fargo for more than 55 years. She served the church on many committees, sang in the choir, and worked in the Sunday School program. Her smiles, laughter, and thoughtfulness were always present as she and her great friends prepared food for receptions and memorials. Walter McDuffy, the minister to seniors, brought a big smile to her face every time they met. Kathryn and Nelson were honored to be the Worthy Matron and Patron of the Moorhead Order of Eastern Star. Kathryn worked with her dear friends serving lunches to the Daylight Lodge, making quilts and participating in chapter meetings and Grand Lodge. Kathryn worked for many years as a secretary to the Scottish Rite and the Grand Lodge Masonic organizations in Fargo. Kathryn was an avid gardener and made sure all of her children learned to play the piano. She loved playing the piano, sewing, gardening, quilting and shopping. Kathryn is survived by her four children, Carol Curry, St Paul, MN; MaryBeth Limpert, San Francisco, CA; Nancy Lilleberg and Bruce Wright, Fargo. Her ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren will miss her smiles, hugs, loving ways and great cookies.
