Joseph David Dudgeon passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023, in Horace, North Dakota.
Joe was born on March 5, 1968, the son of Eugene, Sr. and Evelyn Dudgeon. Joe's memory is lovingly preserved by his partner, David Coons, and his surviving siblings: Margaret Geist, Eugene (Gene) Jr., Sharon Walter (Harry), Jim (Melody), Wanda Wendlandt (Ronney), and Allen (Judy).
Joe's early years unfolded in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, and later, the family made their home in Campbell, Minnesota, where he graduated from Campbell-Tintah High School. Continuing his education at North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, he earned a two-year Associate of Arts Degree in Computer Science.
In his youth, Joe reveled in outdoor sports, particularly water skiing and snowmobiling, as well as embarking on family road trips. An unforgettable adventure for him was the surprise of his life during a sight-seeing airplane tour of the Grand Canyon.
Among Joe's many loves were his pugs, Buster and Xavier (his "Puggy Boys"), who were his steadfast companions on numerous road trips.
Together with David, Joe explored destinations like Mexico, the Bahamas, Montana, and beyond, weaving a tapestry of shared adventures.
One of his greatest accomplishments in his later years was the collaborative effort with David to create and build their new home in Horace, ND. Joe took immense pride in the decision-making process and the realization of a shared dream and the creation of something that was theirs, together.
Known for his sharp problem-solving skills and determination, Joe had a love/hate (mostly hate) relationship with card games, an obsession with "Taz" ornaments, and an insatiable sweet tooth. His legacy includes the warmth of his big bear hugs, his remarkable ability to befriend everyone (including every neighbor he ever had), and his generous nature, always going out of his way for those he had just met.
Joe Dudgeon is deeply missed and forever loved by many.
