Ilah Joann Fischer, 86, of Fargo, ND, died peacefully at home with her beloved husband Robert by her side, holding her hand, on Monday, March 25, 2024.
Ilah Joann Fischer was born on January 19, 1938, in Williston, ND. She is the daughter of Roscoe D. and Sally (Fagerback ) Roberts. She grew up on a farm near Ray, ND.
Ilah married the love of her life, Robert Fischer of Kulm, ND, on September 1, 1956, in Battle Lake, MN. They have a home in Fargo where they raised their children.
Ilah always had a love for cooking & baking. She became well known for her caramel rolls and knoephla & chicken with cream gravy. Most important was her devotion and love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Nothing can compare to the joy her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her. She showed that with the abundance of hugs, kisses, and hand-holding.
Ilah is survived by her husband, Robert, Fargo, ND; two sons, Robert (Renee) Fischer, Fargo, ND and Rick (Lolita) Fischer, Fargo, ND; three daughters, Debra Brorson, Fargo, ND, Teresa (Jo), Phoenix, AZ, and Tamera Fischer, Fargo, ND; along with 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Ilah was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, brothers, sister, and step-granddaughter.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
