Esther Hilda Anderson

Esther Anderson, 89, died on Wednesday September 9.

Esther was born on March 1, 1931 to Philip and Emma Landenberger and grew up on the family farm near Tuttle, ND. She moved to Fargo where she met Fred Anderson; they married in 1950. They made their home and raised their four children in Moorhead. Esther worked for the Fargo Public Schools as a para-professional at Fargo South High Library. After she retired, she and Fred enjoyed their lake home on Middle Cormorant Lake. She was devoted to her family church, Pontoppidan Lutheran in Fargo. Esther also served on the board of Big Iron Ladies Committee. She is remembered for her big smile, big hugs and her creativity. She loved quilting, homemaking, gardening, her family and her friends. Esther was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mom, grandma, aunt, neighbor and friend.

Esther is survived by her two sisters, Lyla (Don) Vertein, Iris (Jerry) Simon; her four children, Keith (Pam) Anderson, Linda (Bob) Dahl, JoAnne Anderson and JD (Renee) Anderson; four grandsons, Jesse (Jennifer) Anderson, Jared (Nicole) Anderson, Rob (Lucy) Kappel, Connor Anderson and her great grandchildren, Tanner, Hayden, Owen, Abram, Solomon, Eleanor and Bridger.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents Philip and Emma Landenberger, her husband Fred Anderson, her brother Leonard Landenberger, and her grandson Matthew Dahl.

Memorials are preferred to Pontoppidan Lutheran Church.

There will be a private family service at the Anderson lake home on Middle Cormorant per Esther’s wishes.
