Doris Brush

Doris Brush, 83 of Fargo, died Friday, March 30, 2012 at Villa Maria Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. Doris M. Brush was born April 3, 1928 in Marion, ND, the daughter of Ben and Evelyn (Flugga) Froemke. She grew up and started school in Marion, ND. The family moved to Valley City, ND in 1941. Doris graduated from Valley City High School in 1946. She married Willis Brush on May 20, 1947 in Valley City. Doris worked for Northwestern Bell as a telephone operator for many years. She was recognized by Northwestern Bell for her efforts in saving the life of a woman who called in for medical assistance. She and Willis moved to St. Paul, MN in 1970 where they managed an apartment complex. They retired to Plant City, Florida in 1988 and moved back to Valley City in 1991. Doris moved to Fargo, ND in 2001 after the death of her husband. Doris was very active in the Valley City Eagles Auxiliary. She was a charter member of the Valley City Auxiliary and a past state president. Doris is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Matthew) Voulgarakis, Fargo, ND; grandsons, William (Heather George) Voulgarakis, New Brighton, MN, Nicholas Voulgarakis, Fargo, ND; granddaughter, Catherine (Roberto Suarez) Voulgarakis, Overland Park, KS; four great-grandchildren, Brittany, Christian, Mathew and Hunter Voulgarakis. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Willis. Funeral: Thursday, April 5, 2012, 11:00 AM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Hanson-Runsvold and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Burial: Thursday, 2:00 PM at Memory Gardens, Valley City, ND.
